Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris
Personally, I have always thought that a good spa experience is the most Affordable Luxury in life. One of the most indulging things I discovered this summer in Paris, was visiting all my favorite hotel spas one by one. I hope this brings some reference value to those who live in Paris or give some ideas to those who are about to travel to Paris and love spa experiences. After all, everyone has different preferences. Here, I only share the information from the perspective of a hotelier, all are my personal experiences and opinions.

-Design-

- Designer Philippe Starck -
👁️ The hotel was designed by Philippe Starck. The pool area is very modern and Zen-like. The color is super aqua blue. The multiple mirror elements make the entire space quite bright; the skylight is absolutely insane! Rain or shine, the natural light brought by the skylight is hard to fin in many luxury hotel swimming pools. The gym has quite a lot of facilities to choose from (I just personally don’t like to do weight workout, so I can’t review it professionally).

The lighting in the dressing room is white and has the same multi-mirror design, which is simple and modern; the rest of the space has the same style, and the overall feeling is clean and transparent.
- Material quality-
🤲🏻 The swimming pool is very clean and the water temperature always remains at a comfortable 26 degrees celsius. It is neither overheated which may impact the tension of the muscles, or too cold; but the Jacuzzi area is much warmer and cocooning-like, definitely a good place to relax the muscles after working out; the water depth is 1.35m. It is very suitable for bringing children and all the swimming pool gear for children is freely available.
Gym: Size/Facilities/Personal Training/Group Classes/Water and Towels
The changing room is not big, but the space is used very cleverly, and the mirror refraction greatly increases the sense of space; the quality of towels, bathrobes and slippers is good but not great i have to say, I wish the bathrobes could be lighter and softer; the 2 steam rooms are both very good (the heating power is definitely high enough); But personally I don’t enjoy using their hair dryer. Babybliss is not as efficient and effective as Dyson;
The spa brands are Clarins and My Blend, all products in the changing room are Clarins (no need to bring makeup remover and toner).
- Tasty snacks -
👄 There are quite a lot of fruit choices in the “energy supplement area”, from low-calorie cherry tomatoes, to apricots and apples, as well as bananas... The juices change every day but there are always four flavors. I personally like their freshly squeezed carrot and ginger; in the tea box there are always 9 kinds of tea (Palais des Thés). My personal favorite is the sweet and full of tropical fragranced mango herbal tea... There are also natural nuts, dried fruits, biscuits... definitely a temptation after fitness.
- Soundtrack -
👂 The entire space has a modern soundtrack. It is not classic Zen style light music, but it brings more vibes to motivate people back to gym. There is music played underwater as well, and it feels really amazing to listen to music while swimming.
- Special bonus -
💌 The hotel’s location can be considered an “urban Oasis” in the busy Paris city center. However, it is actually a 3-minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe. Il Carpaccio, on the ground floor is one of the only 2 Italian restaurants in Paris with one Michelin star. The restaurant's dishes are really fresh, and Carpaccio is a definite classic choice. You can really feel the beef melting in your mouth... The restaurant's wine list is also quite impressive. maybe Italians also like to pair their dishes with Champagne? Who doesn’t like to sip a glass of Champagne or Italian sparkilng Franciacorta after spa?
The spa area automatically connects to free wifi for three hours (but the mobile signal is not good, so it may not be clear when you answer the phone).
User privacy is very good ( the distance between the men's changing room and women are relatively far), and the service is very considerate. The second time I went there, they already greeted me with my name.
You can bring children to the pool area on Wednesday (half-school day in France); And swimming class is available from 4 years old; parking is free.
